How To

Raise awareness

This page is currently under construction.

Whether inside organizations or national boundaries, culture either gives people the psychological safety to take risks and experiment - or it withholds it. Risk-taking, diversity of thought and action and interpersonal trust, are all key to high levels of innovation and entrepreneurship, yet in a survey carried out by the OTF Group on behalf of infoDev of incubators in developing countries around the world, 85% responded that their environments do not tolerate failure.  Many countries are facing environments where entrepreneurs are looked down upon, or at least not encouraged.  Incubators therefore often take steps to promote entrepreneurial attitudes and raise awareness of the opportunities entrepreneurship can bring.

Awareness raising can also take place around more specific topics, such as how aspiring entrepreneurs can take advantage of the many and rapid developments in the ICT sector to create new businesses.

This section seeks to provide ideas for how to best raise entrepreneurial awareness in the local business environment.
